Transportation plays an essential role in trade traffic in society. The role of transportation in the world of commerce is absolute because there is no transportation a business cannot run. Goods produced by producers or factories can reach the hands of traders or entrepreneurs only utilizing transportation, as well as reach the hands of consumers. Carriage is a reciprocal agreement between the Carrier and the Shipper. The Carrier binds himself to safely transport goods or people from a particular place to a specific destination. Instead, the sender binds himself to pay for the transportation costs. Multimodal transportation uses at least two modes of transportation based on one contract as a multimodal transportation document. Carriers responsible for multimodal transportation for losses arising from damage, loss and delay in delivery of goods are subject to the sole responsibility or responsibility that applies to each mode of transportation. The multimodal transport business entity is responsible for the goods it transports after it receives the cargo to carry out the orders of the multimodal transport service user, following the provisions of the agreement in the multimodal transport document. In this case, the forwarder is responsible for the safety and security of the goods he is transporting following the type and quantity stated in the bill of lading or the agreement or contract of transportation that has been regulated according to the legal sources of transportation.
